Peanut Butter Fingers

This has been very popular at our house recently. It is a great peanut butter finger recipe that came from my neighborhood cookbook.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 sticks of butter (3/4 cup)
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
1/4 c. peanut butter
1 3/4 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
3/4 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together. Flour hands and press into a large ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350* for 10-12 minutes. Do not overcook. Let cool 5 minutes and then spread with peanut butter and chocolate frosting. (I put about 1/3 cup peanut butter in a bowl and melted in the microwave a little. Then I spread it with a brush.)

Chocolate Frosting:

1/2 c. margarine or butter
4 T. cocoa
1/3 c. milk
1/2 t. vanilla
powdered sugar (around 4 cups)

Combine butter, cocoa and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla, then powdered sugar until it reaches desired consistency.

deliciousness. I made these (a similar recipe) one time when we first moved here. Spencer acted disappointed, but guess how quickly we cleaned them out, a full 24 hours perhaps?
These look great.
