Ann's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a favorite recipe for sure given to me by John's sister Ann.  WARNING: Make these and you'll be hooked.

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoons baking soda
2 1/4-2 1/2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
12-16 oz chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter with sugar and vanilla. Add eggs and mix just until combined. In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients together. Add to the mixer and combine well. Add chocolate chips.

Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown on top. The inside may still seem a bit underdone. Let them sit on the cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes. Enjoy!

This is the same recipe that I use for all of my cookie needs, except I blend the oatmeal like Aunt Percy's recipe calls for.
They are what oatmeal cookie dreams are made of.
