Homemade Scones - Easy!!!

So easy, my husband whipped these up and he has the recipe memorized. The directions come from him!
They were a huge hit. Super simple and super delicious.
We ate them with butter and honey on some and butter and cinnamon and sugar on some.
You can find our favorite honey butter recipe here.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 cup softened butter
3/4 cup milk

Directions:

Mix in bread maker! Or your KitchenAid type mixer.
Otherwise, do what you have to do to get it mixed together. Roll out flat. Cut with a pizza cutter. Fry in oil on one side until golden brown, turn over and fry the other side until golden brown. Slather with butter and honey or whatever topping you prefer and eat. YUM!
*For the best effect, roll them out thin.

Yum. Those look good. My kids would love me if I made these, so I guess I will. Tomorrow I think. Thanks for a great recipe to try.

These look delish! However, they are more of a doughnut. Scones have a biscuit texture and are baked not fried.

Actually, some scones are biscuitlike and some scones are just like this. These are like the scones I had growing up and they're like the scones from the fast food restaurant called Sconecutter.

I much prefer this kind of scone. While the biscuitlike ones are good with hot cocoa, these are heavenly with butter and honey.

These look a lot like sopaipillas. Delicious no matter what you call them!

i am glad you think they look delicious...

i am not sure where you are from, but i was in england for 18 months and while i was there, i learned that what they call a scone looks just like what we call a biscuit.

are you from one of these places like that?

but these look just like any scone i have ever seen... and enjoyed. :)

they do look delicious. Mmm...

Born in California, raised for 18 years in Boston, now living (17 years) in the midwest (Chicago)! So nope - not England (unless you count the'new' part) :)
