Muddy Buddies

This isn't a new recipe or an original recipe but it's a good one. It is a great quick snack for all those little (and big) hands that need some munchies. You can do this in the microwave but I chose stove top.

Ingredients:

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
9 cups any variety chex mix

Directions:

Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter together. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Measure 9 cups cereal into large bowl. When the chocolate mixture is melted, pour it on the cereal and mix together well.

The recipe calls for a 2 gallon storage bag but instead I used 2 - one gallon bags. If using 2 bags, put 3/4 cup powdered sugar into each bag. Dump half the chocolate cereal into each bag, seal the bag and shake it up well until all pieces are coated in powdered sugar.

It also says to lay out on waxed paper for 30 minutes to cool but that doesn't happen at our house. We follow our own directions of dump it in a bowl and go to town.

Enjoy!

I LOVE that picture, and I know my kids have had this and like it. I have never made it, so I am glad you put this recipe on. We may need a special little snack while the kids are home from school for two weeks. Hooray!
