Campfire Dinner

We all love a simple dinner! This is great for throwing over a campfire, into the barbeque, or into your oven and couldn't be any easier to prepare! Serve it with some warm rolls and you have Sunday dinner simplified!

Ingredients:
potatoes
carrots
red onion
hamburger
dry onion soup mix
cream of mushroom soup

Directions:

Simply slice your potatoes, carrots and onion to a uniform thickness. Place desired amount of each onto heavy tinfoil sprayed with non-stick cooking spray, crumble raw hamburger over the top, sprinkle with desired amount of onion soup mix and add a heaping spoonful of mushroom soup. You really can't go wrong so don't be afraid to just throw in a little more of this and a little less of that! Wrap up foil to seal in heat. Place into a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes or until meat is cooked through and vegetables are tender. Also try it in your barbeque or over a campfire!

i've never once thought about doing these in the oven. they always taste so good when you do them camping. what a great idea! ...and the kids would love to help assemble these. i'm going to do this one this week.

Best looking tin foil dinner I've ever seen.
We'll have to try it.

I made this tonight, but didn't have any cooking spray....so I buttered a glass pan (9x13 size) and layered the same ingredients into the pan and covered with foil and baked for about 50 minutes. It was incredible! Everyone had seconds and it was a huge hit! It will be on our rotation from now on....and it was so easy!

We made extras last night and so we had this again tonight as leftovers. I just put it in a skillet to reheat it and added some ketchup (Maria! :)) for added flavor and it was almost better than the first night we had it! Don't you love leftovers?

We had this tonight and absolutely loved it. Because I have a couple of fanatical kids about mushrooms, I used cream of chicken soup and it was really tasty. Couldn't get enough of those red onions! Yummy!

I love tin foil dinners and for a while there was on a quest to make the perfect tin foil dinner. I have never done the soup in mine before. Sounds super yummy. It's fun, it's easy, Thanks!

I used Lori's idea tonight and baked it in a 9 x 13 (actually 2 of them) while we were at Joe's football game. It was freezing outside and we came home to delicious smelling and tasting food that it seemed the kids couldn't get enough of.
