Ranger Cookies

I remember a cookie recipe with rice krispies in it from when I was a kid except they were made with butterscotch chips and we called them Ranger Cookies. I loved them so I had to try this and it was delicious. I love the crispy crunch. I found this recipe here (but she calls them Rocky Mountain Cookies)

Ingredients:

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 cups old-fashioned oats
2 cups crisp rice cereal
2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350*
In large bowl, cream together the sugars and the butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat well. Mix in the flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder. Fold in the oats, cereal and chocolate chips. Drop dough by tablespoonfulls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden and still soft.

I've heard the cookies you're describing called "Cowboy Cookies". The recipe looks the same, but with butterscotch chips. (I like to put both!)
