THE Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

This is the only chocolate chip cookie recipe worth making. Sorry to all of you thin & crispy or big & puffy cookie fans. This recipe makes the perfect chocolate chip cookies. These have become a favorite in our home and I could literally make them in my sleep (as sad as that is).

Ingredients:

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 cups flour
2 cups chocolate chips
nuts (optional)

Directions:

Mix butter with sugars just until combined. Add eggs until incorporated but do not overmix. Add in vanilla. In a separate bowl sift together flour, salt, and baking soda. (Careful not to level out your flour cups...flour should be loose. It is easier to add more flour if needed and impossible to take some away!! Down with cakey, puffy cookies. Yuck!) Add dry ingredients to mixture, again being careful not to overmix. The perfect dough would be a moist playdough consistency. Finally, add in chocolate chips. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

I like chocolate chip cookies my way but it is fun to try other recipes...but then go back to my own standards.
